Fidel and Raul Castro Attend Setting up Cuban Parliament

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 24 (ACN) Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro and President Raul Castro are attending the solemn session, underway at Havana’s Convention Center, which will set up the new National Assembly of People’s Power.
Along Fidel and Raul is Cuba’s first vice-president Jose Ramon Machado Ventura. All 612 deputies, recently elected by the people, will assume their posts for the 8th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament, during a five-year term.
The deputies will vote the Parliament presidency and the Council of State, which is made up of the President, a first vice-president, five vice-presidents and a secretary, plus another 23 members.
